Project Scope: LV Switch room Upgrade – Change over three existing switchboards onsite due to poor arch flash protection on the existing switchboards and install one new power factor correction unit.

This project had three work areas. The first work area was around the main switch board. The existing switch room had clearance issues for the new switch board and not enough room to install the new power factor unit.
For this reason, Cargill requested CJ Pearce to construct a new switch room to the other side of the HV room. The aim is to have both boards energized and then more each circuit across from the old board to the new over a few weeks.

The second work area was prep room 1. Cargills wanted to change over the form 1 boards to Form 3b for better protection. The third work area was with the 2nd Prep room. This was to also change the form 1 boards to form 3b.

We proudly took home the 2017 NECA Award for Excellence in the Small Industrial Project category, recognising our team’s commitment to delivering outstanding electrical solutions for this project.
